We have exhibition quality Long-Tailed Phoenix in two colors, red and white. I will be
able to offer hatching eggs in 2008. We hope to have Silver Phoenix eggs available by
the spring of 2009.
This white Phoenix
rooster only hatched in
June, 2007. Shown here
at five months old, he  is
already exhibiting the
long tail feathers of his

Phoenix Chickens are an ancient breed of chicken from Japan, originally kept in Japanese Imperial
Gardens. Cocks have long tail feathers, reaching 5 feet on average. Historically, the tail could reach 15–20
feet; the only breed of chicken that can grow such a tail today is the Onagadori.

There has been confusion as to the proper name for this breed. Most generally accept the single comb
birds as the Phoenix.
