Barnevelder chickens are another rare-breed, dark-brown egg layer. The hens have a gorgeous lacing pattern in gold and
dark brown, while the roosters are handsome with their reddish-brown feathers.  The hens are excellent mothers. Our hens
lay some dark brown eggs with others being a medium brown. We are working on breeding only from the darkest egg
layers and will be adding new bloodlines this year. A gentle and sweet natured breed.

Here are some comments from a happy customer:

"Hello There, just wished for you to know that of all the eggs that i
have purchased in the last 2 years (lots).....I had the BEST hatch
rate ever from Your eggs....They are hatching now and are very
healthy and energetic. I think they are a beautiful breed and can
hardly wait for them to grow....i think at this time there are only 4
eggs that do not show cracking from the inside chick yet....but
they just started hatching yesterday ...
Thankyou so very much for the wonderful eggs......best Wishes,
eliz
Shown at left are some of our eggs. They are
actually a little darker than they look here,
because of the camera flash.  On the right
are some of our adult birds in their moulting
pen. In the fall we run the breeds together,
but they are separated by breed for the entire
egg collection time.
