Barnevelder chickens are another rare-breed, dark-brown egg layer. The
hens have a gorgeous lacing pattern in gold and dark brown, while the
roosters are handsome with their reddish-brown feathers.  The hens are
excellent mothers. A gentle and sweet natured breed.
